Sorrow Official Lyric Video

With their version of Sorrow, the Dance Hall Pimps celebrate the 40th anniversary of the release of David Bowie’s version of Sorrow (originally performed by The McCoys in 1965).  The video references David Bowie with both subtle and obvious visual cues taken from his iconic fashion and personal style during the early 1970′s.  Musically, the Dance Hall Pimps offer their own unique take on Sorrow, transposing the song to a minor key, adding horns, and building it to a powerful climax.  But the Dance Hall Pimps’ version still pays tribute to recognizable musical motifs from Bowie’s interpretation of Sorrow.
